Australian Motivational Speakers: Moving Australia into Action
Australian motivational speakers started making waves since 1987. In fact, Australia’s professional speakers association is among only 12 in the world. Of those 12, Australia’s is the second oldest. Speakers in Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, and all of Australia have combined to inspire, motivate, and speak to Australia.
Motivational speaking is a profession that’s been around for many years. Many people do it professionally and treat it as a full-time job. Others have full time jobs somewhere else and only speak occasionally. Whatever the case, these speakers have something in common: they’ve got what it takes to call individuals to action. How exactly do they do it? Motivate and inspire people. It sounds not so difficult. When it’s put like that, it would seem like anybody can do it.
Sure, anyone can be an inspirational speaker. Eventually, a speaker will be evaluated based on his or her capability to deliver. In this job, it’s effectiveness that matters. For instance, on a business viewpoint, how successfully does the speaker motivate a company’s people to get together? How can he or she relate his or her experiences to those of the employees’? The answer lies in the useful mixture of three ideas: ethos, logos, and pathos.
Ethos, logos, and pathos are the three aspects of useful communication. A combination of the three establishes the soundness of an argument. Technically, any speech-inspirational, motivational, or whatever it may be-is an argument. It’s an argument because it may bring out agreement and disagreement. Regarding motivational speakers, they must get their audiences to go along with them and agree to their call to action.
Ethos – The most literal English translation for this word is ethics. This is the element that determines a speaker’s reliability and authority with his audience. Ethos is used to put together a sense of credibility. This is important for a speaker because it determines whether a crowd will pay attention. Language and relevance are important here. For instance, speakers in Perth shouldn’t discuss issues in Sydney that are unimportant to their engagement.
Logos – This is a speaker’s appeal to logic. It asks the question of whether the speaker involves his audience on an rational level. Does the speaker appeal to the audience’s intellect? Is the audience listening and captivated since the speaker is intelligent enough? Even though this is useful, it’s more frequently associated with academic speech or writing.
Pathos – It is an ability to entice the emotions. For an individual who is calling people to action, this is the most crucial aspect in a speech. A motivational speaker should really offer words that bring out emotions. There’s no better way to motivate people than by utilising emotions.
Together, these three aspects express a powerful call to action.

Motivational Interviewing $68.51 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Motivational interviewing (MI) refers to a counseling approach in part developed by clinical psychologists Professor William R Miller, Ph.D. and Professor Stephen Rollnick, Ph.D. It is a clientcentered, semidirective method of engaging intrinsic motivation to change behavior by developing discrepancy and exploring and resolving ambivalence within the client. Motivational interviewing recognizes and accepts the fact that clients who need to make changes in their lives approach counseling at different levels of readiness to change their behavior. If the counseling is mandated, they may never have thought of changing the behavior in question. Some may have thought about it but not taken steps to change it. Others, especially those voluntarily seeking counseling, may be actively trying to change their behavior and may have been doing so unsuccessfully for years. Accelerated Learning for the 21st Century $18 We live in an era when the unprecedented speed of change means: The only certainty is uncertainty; you can’t predict what skills will be useful in ten years time; in most professions knowledge is doubling every two or three years; and no job is forever–so being employable means being flexible and retraining regularly. Accelerated Learning into the 21st Century contains a simple but proven plan that delivers the one key skill that every working person, every parent and student must master, and every teacher should teach: it’s learning how to learn. The theory of eight multiple intelligences (linguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist) developed by Howard Gardner at Harvard University provides a foundation for the six-step MASTER-Mind system to facilitate learning (an acronym for Mind, Acquire, Search, Trigger, Exhibit, and Review), and is enhanced by the latest findings on the value of emotion and memory on the process of learning. Combined with motivational stories of success applying these principles, and putting forth a clear vision of how the United States can dramatically improve the education system to remain competitive in the next century, Accelerated Learning into the 21st Century is a dynamic tool for self-improvement by individuals as diverse as schoolchildren and corporate executives. |

An examination of a probation department’s domestic violence unit. $69 Intervention programs for batterers have become a mainstay of the criminal justice system’s response to domestic violence perpetration. Dozens of evaluations of such programs have been carried out in the last two decades yet many questions remain about the processes through which these interventions are carried out and their outcomes in terms of criminal recidivism and victim and community safety.;The purpose of this study was to provide an in-depth description of a batterer intervention program provided by a local probation department’s specialized domestic violence unit in conjunction with a community domestic violence agency. Using a combined qualitative and quantitative approach including data from nonparticipant observation, interviews, and case record review, the process and outcomes of service delivery were examined. Results found no program effect in terms of program completion and recidivism for 77 probationers who were sentenced to probation and received intervention services during 2004 and 2005. Analysis revealed that emotion management is a crucial activity of service providers of the intervention. Impression management and narrative theories elucidate the probation experiences of the participants as examined through the stories they tell about themselves.;Policy recommendations include the increased use of motivational techniques in batterer intervention programs, improved data collection by local service providers, and continued research on successful interventions in this field. |

Bible Ditties $11.99 God is funny. Seriously. He’s seriously funny. God is very serious about the way we live our lives, but he is also a God with a sense of humor. In this lighthearted collection of Bible ditties, author Paul Wesler shares real-life situations where God—and his humor—is present. In ‘Dandelions,’ Wesler tells readers to endure hardships, to be like the pesky dandelions that come back no matter how many times they’re mowed down. ‘Grin Reapers’ teaches that just a simple smile will reap great rewards. ‘No Littering’ addresses the issue of gossip, comparing it to a litter of cats in a bag that are let out when gossip is spread. These stories and others like them impart simple but valuable lessons that remind readers that God has not lost his sense of humor, and everyone can share the last laugh. Paul takes simple sayings we’ve used and heard throughout our lives and makes them chockfull of memorable lessons. Once you’ve read one ditty, just hearing the phrase will transport you back to the newly imbedded truth inspired by biblical principles. Pastor Steve Brannan Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship Director, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio Paul Wesler has served as the Ohio FFA state treasurer and has traveled around giving motivational speeches to students, parents, and teachers. He has also pastored with the Assemblies of God in Spokane, Washington; Pound, Wisconsin; and Eaton, Ohio. He lives in Ohio with his wife, where they co-founded ‘The Revolution’ Ministries. |
