You have to absorb your audience into the plot so that they feel like they were actually there. The best way to do this is to create mystery in your stories. Be indirect. Your goal is to attract hot women emotionally because it is the great way to build attraction.

A great story brings three main emotional states for women. A story without feeling is a dead story. Use these three emotional states in your stories and make yourself an interesting person.

2. It is not good to laugh at your own jokes.
3. Use deep voice so that people can hear you well.
4. Keep it short and full of interest.
5. Use silence/pauses to create suspense.
6. Always respect the culture of the story.

“Stories Should Be All About You”… You should be present in each and every story. This is the hidden secret in storytelling that binds you with women.

Master Storytelling Art = Fun = Incredible Time = Attraction.

A stunning U.S. debut-a literary mystery set in the fabled city square of Marrakesh. Each year, the storyteller, Hassan, gathers listeners to the city square to share their recollections of a young, foreign couple who mysteriously disappeared years earlier. As testimonies circle an elusive truth, the couple takes on an air as enigmatic as their fate. But is this annual storytelling ritual a genuine attempt to uncover the truth, or is it intended instead to weave an ambiguous mythology around a crime? The first in an ambitious cycle of novels set in the Islamic world, The Storyteller of Marrakesh is an elegant exploration of the nature of reality and our shifting perceptions of truth.

Luke: Storyteller, Interpreter, Evangelist

Luke: Storyteller, Interpreter, Evangelist

“Advanced college students, seminarians, and graduate students will appreciate this broadly accessible introduction to Christianity’s first historian and his work. Parsons examines Luke as a storyteller within the context of ancient rhetorical criticism as practiced in the Hellenistic world and as represented by the Hellenistic rhetorical tradition. Moving on to Luke as an interpreter of traditional materials and social conventions, he ends with an exploration of Luke the evangelist, and his view of Jesus as alight for revelation to the Gentiles and for the glory of the people of Israel. Considering these three angles of vision and the clarity each one provides for understanding Luke and Acts, Parsons offers a significant contribution to the overall appreciation for Luke’s literary and theological accomplishments.”

“The Final Volume in a Well-Received Gospel StudyJohn: Storyteller, Interpreter, Evangelist is an accessible introduction to the Fourth Gospel. This book examines three aspects of John’s Gospel: John’s telling of the story of Jesus, his interpretation of Jesus for his readers, and his formulation of all of this into the Gospel of Jesus.Carter surveys the central issues of this Gospel and engages with narrative and historical approaches, the two dominant methods used in interpreting John’s Gospel. In addition, he introduces his readers to a consideration of the Gospel’s negotiation of the Roman imperial world. This book is written for college and seminary students, clergy seeking resources for teaching and preaching, and the laity, especially Bible study groups who like to engage a topic in some depth.”

Collage of Color in Silkos Storyteller.

Collage of Color in Silkos Storyteller.

$115.71

As an American Indian writer, Leslie Marmon Silko stretches the imaginations and perceptions of her readers. This Masters thesis investigates one of the motifs she employs to induce these results, the use of color symbolism. Color and color symbolism are utilized in every culture, but Silkos writings provide a quandary which begs investigationhow does this Laguna Pueblo writer integrate the color symbols of her culture and landscape into her stories and poetry? This question is addressed by researching the significance of specific colors within the Pueblo and related communities, exposing through close reading the use of these specific colors within the texts, and finally, through literary analysis, unraveling the language to glean new perspectives on the discourse. A primary work to be analyzed is her collection of poems and stories, Storyteller, and specifically one fictional piece from that collection also entitled Storyteller, which incorporates layering of Pueblo culture and color symbolism over a distinctly different community and landscape, the Inuit of Alaska. Using this particular story as a basis for looking at other pieces within Storyteller, the integrated system of colors emerges through a close reading of the text. Although color representation is considered universal or innate, this research addresses culture specific color systems and how that association enriches Native literature as well as the scholarship and theoretical basis of American Indian Studies programs. “For the past ten years, the well-received first edition of this commentary has offered readers a way to look at scriptural texts that combines historical, narrative, and contemporary interests. Now an updated second edition is available as part of a new series focusing on each of the gospel writers as storyteller, interpreter, and evangelist. This edition preserves the essential identity of the original material, while adding new insights from Carter’s more recent readings of Matthew’s gospel in relation to the Roman Imperial world.Four of the seventeen chapters have been significantly revised, and most have had minor changes. There are also new endnotes directing readers to Carter’s more recent published work on Matthew. Scholars and pastors will use the full bibliography and appendix on redaction and narrative approaches, while lay readers will appreciate the clear and straightforward text.”

The Art of the StoryTeller (Dodo Press)

$25.14

Marie L. Shedlock (18541935) was the author of The Art of the StoryTeller (1915). Storytelling is almost the oldest art in the worldthe first conscious form of literary communication. In the East it still survives, and it is not an uncommon thing to see a crowd at a street corner held by the simple narration of a story. There are signs in the West of a growing interest in this ancient art, and we may yet live to see the renaissance of the troubadours and the minstrels whose appeal will then rival that of the mob orator or itinerant politician. One of the surest signs of a belief in the educational power of the story is its introduction into the curriculum of the trainingcollege and the classes of the elementary and secondary schools. It is just at the time when the imagination is most keen, the mind being unhampered by accumulation of facts, that stories appeal most vividly and are retained for all time. “The earliest and briefest of the four Gospels has traditionally been ascribed to a disciple named Mark In some ages it been overshadowed by its lengthier neighbors in the New Testament, but its pages hold rich rewards for those who ask the right questions. Who was “Mark,” and what were his purposes–historical, theological, or otherwise? How does he shape his story of Jesus, and what interpretation of the origins of Christianity does that shaping reveal? More particularly, what is his understanding of his central character, Jesus of Nazareth? And finally, what abiding value does his story hold for those who read this “good news” as a key part of the charter of the Christian church in its life today?Seminarians, other graduate students and advanced undergraduates, pastors, and other readers seeking an introduction to the Gospel of Mark through the lens of sensitive literary, historical, and theological scholarship need look no further. In Mark: Storyteller, Interpreter, Evangelist, Francis J. Moloney offers the fruits of top-level biblical scholarship in a broadly accessible format. To make matters worse, Junior captures the imagination of Chicago’s sports fans, who root for this young upstart. High bets knock the odds in the air as both the police and the mob begin to close in on the Lip, smelling the fix and a profit. And just before the big night, a couple of dead bodies and a secret from Junior’s past turn up. threatening to upset the big plan. Thick with period color and detail, this stunningly taut novel brings a city and its dark underside to thrilling life and winds a story as tight as a whiplash around the events and personalities of the era. ‘57, Chicago introduces readers to an exciting new storyteller. ‘Call Me Hank’: A Sto:lo Man’s Reflections on Logging, Living, and Growing Old

$29.95

‘My name is Henry George Pennier and if you want to be a friend of mine please you will call me Hank.’ So begins ‘Call Me Hank,’ the autobiography of Hank Pennier (1904-1991): logger, storyteller, and self-described ‘halfbreed.’ In this work, Pennier offers thoughtful reflections on growing up as a non-status Aboriginal person on or near a Stó:lõ reserve, searching for work of all kinds during hard times as a young man, and working as a logger through the depression of the 1930s up to his retirement. Known only to a small local audience when it was first published in 1972, this expanded edition of Pennier’s autobiography provides poignant political commentary on issues of race, labour, and life through the eyes of a retired West Coast Native logger. ‘Call Me Hank’ is an engaging and often humorous read that makes an important contribution to a host of contemporary discourses in Canada, including discussions about the nature and value of Aboriginal identity. To Hank’s original manuscript, Keith Carlson and Kristina Fagan have added a scholarly introduction situating Hank’s writing within historical, literary, and cultural contexts, exploring his ideas and writing style, and offering further information about his life. A map of place names mentioned by Hank, a diagram of a steam logging operation, a glossary of logging terms, and sixteen photographs provide practical and historical complements to Pennier’s original lively personal narrative.Pennier’s book preceded the proliferation of Aboriginal writing that began with the publication of Maria Campbell’s Halfbreed in 1973 and provides a markedly different view of Aboriginal life than other writings of the period. It also documents important aspects of Aboriginal participation in the wage labour economy that have been overlooked by historians, and offers a unique reflection on masculinity, government policy, and industrialization.

Much of the press heaped upon Simple Kid around the release of his debut 1 recycled the “Dylan of the new generation” clich? , and while that comparison has worked well for Beck, does anyone actually remember other “modern Dylans” like Block or John Oszajca? And truth be told, most of 1 sounds a bit like Beck, but very little like Bob Dylan, so wouldn’t that make Simple Kid a third-generation of Dylan? Either way, it’s no matter because the best moments on 1 are actually where Simple Kid apes a different ’60s figure — Ray Davies — for thrilling tales of mendacity. It’s songs like “The Average Man” and “The Commuter” where Simple Kid establishes his identity as a guitar-based storyteller; one who leans equally on post-alt rock soundscapes as he does on classic Britpop ranging from the Kinks to Blur. He falters when he indulges his sonic experiments, such as in the trippy “Drugs,” or “Love’s an Enigma, which both sound like third-rate Super Furry Animals. It’s the chunky power pop and twee falsetto in songs like “Staring at the Sun that make 1 feel like a celebration of ’90s Britpop, ten years on, only with some modern flourishes sprinkled in. It’s true that the shifting styles make 1 something of a rocky listen — especially when the tempo drags so much in the middle of the album — but the good bits, the truly adventurous bits, are where Simple Kid is content to sit still and write about other people who are also sitting still. ~ Jason Damas, Rovi

Self-made billionaire Sam Wyly is a natural storyteller. In this candid, engrossing memoir, he recounts the experiences that led him to establish and expand companies on the leading edge of advancements in technology, energy, retail, and investments over the last five decades. From growing up in rural Louisiana on the family cotton farm during the Depression, to founding a pioneering computing company, to parlaying his success into major national retail chains, Wyly describes the decisions and strategies with which he’s created his unique path. Starting with University Computing in Dallas in the early 1960s, Wyly reveals the drive and dealings that took him from one success to another, including founding Sterling Software, taking on the mammoth AT&T monopoly, growing the small chains of Michaels Stores and Bonanza Steakhouses to over a thousand locations each nationwide, co-founding the Maverick Capital and Ranger Capital hedge funds, and founding Green Mountain Energy, the largest provider of cleaner energy in America today. But he also writes frankly about failures, what he learned from them, and the tactics that ensured his business survival through tough economic times. In new chapters written for this expanded edition, Wyly discusses the “Great Crash of 2008″ in historical perspective, offering insights on the causes of our current financial crisis and the path to recovery–including the importance of green energy for the future.

Ann von Lossberg and boyfriend Jim Hudock stand at the dock at Baltimore harbor and wave goodbye to their screaming-red VW bus en route to England–”just about the most beautiful magic carpet I’ve ever seen,” Ann says. Quitting their jobs and selling their possessions, they travel around the world with no fixed itinerary-presuming that their odyssey will be no less magical than Ali Baba’s classical odyssey. The first overland trip, two and a half years, is to the Middle East and Africa; a second trip to Asia is thirteen months. “Extended travel peels away the layers of your former self, especially the demands of Africa,” Ann says. “Something happens when you give up wearing a watch and relinquish control over time. Experience found us; extraordinary things that just don’t happen to people happened to us. We learned to leap, and the net always appeared.” The language that filled Ann’s journals, seasoning over twenty-five years’ time to become the sixteen stories of 1089 Nights, gives way to something rich and transcendent. A sympathetic storyteller with a keen eye-most commonly the lone woman traveler among men-Ann provides us with an armchair view of the world without the mosquitoes. From Syria to Mozambique to Cambodia, over and over, this heartening memoir shows us that the world is a wondrous place, that travel can change us, satisfy something soulful, and promote the most personal kind of peace. 1089 Nights is a passionate love affair with the world that carries an urgent plea. “The world passes us by faster than we know. If we don’t catch it soon, the airwaves will immutably wash over us in the same likeness. We will become as one.” “Hurry,” Ann says, “the camels arewaiting.”

It’s Friday night and you’re on a red-eye to the city of sin. Strapped to your chest is half a million dollars; in your overnight bag is another twenty-five thousand in blackjack chips; and your wallet holds ten fake IDs. As soon as you land in Las Vegas, you are positive you are being investigated and followed. To top it all off, the IRS is auditing you, someone has been going through your mail — and you have a multivariable calculus exam on Monday morning. Welcome to the world of an exclusive group of audacious MIT math geniuses who legally took the casinos for over three million dollars — while still finding time for college keg parties, football games, and final exams. In the midst of the go-go eighties and nineties, a group of overachieving, anarchistic MIT students joined a decades-old underground blackjack club dedicated to counting cards and beating the system at major casinos around the world. While their classmates were working long hours in labs and libraries, the blackjack team traveled weekly to Las Vegas and other glamorous gambling locales, with hundreds of thousands of dollars duct-taped to their bodies. Underwritten by shady investors they would never meet, these kids bet fifty thousand dollars a hand, enjoyed VIP suites and other upscale treats, and partied with showgirls and celebrities. Handpicked by an eccentric mastermind — a former MIT professor and an obsessive player who had developed a unique system of verbal cues, body signals, and role-playing — this one ring of card savants earned more than three million dollars from corporate Vegas, making them the object of the casinos’ wrath and eventually targets of revenge. Here is their inside story, revealing their secrets for the first time. Master storyteller Ben Mezrich takes you from the ivory towers of academia to the Technicolor world of Las Vegas, where anything can happen — and often does. On the surface His stories were amusement. But lying within, covered in yummy mind pictures, was a wholesome kernel of instruction that slid down easily and went to work edifying the mind and body. 5 Little Tomatoes is the story of Jesus feeding the multitudes, one of many miracles that form the Biblical backbone of Christ as Messiah. This miracle, in particular, was a deliberate demonstration by Jesus to help us understand that we, alone, are not enough. We need the bread of life that only He can provide. There’s no reason why that bread can’t have a little ketchup on top, though. 5 Little Tomatoes is the perfect recipe for a tasty, teachable moment.

A Cherokee Woman's America: Memoirs of Narcissa Owen, 1831-1907

A Cherokee Woman’s America: Memoirs of Narcissa Owen, 1831-1907

$59.95

This first scholarly edition of the writings of a unique Native American woman details an extraordinary life in a combination of genres including oral history, ethnography, and western adventure sketches. Narcissa Owen was of mixed Cherokee and Scots-Irish descent and the daughter of a leader of the Old Settlers (those Cherokees who moved west prior to their subsequent forced removal by the U.S. government, the notorious Trail of Tears). The Memoirs reveal a fascinating and complex 19th-century woman—an artist, music teacher, storyteller, Confederate slave owner, Washington socialite, wife of a white railroad executive, widow, and mother of the first Native American U.S. Senator, Robert L. Owen, Jr. Her writings interpret the history of the tribe and describe the cultural upheaval of the Cherokees moving west. They also offer a glimpse into antebellum, Civil War, and Reconstruction American life.  This edition provides a wealth of background information including a biographical preface, chronology of Owen’s life, genealogy, and textual footnotes. In addition, an introductory essay places the Memoirs in the context of Owen’s predecessors and contemporaries, including Cherokee cultural and literary tradition, the larger Indian historical/literary context, and women’s writing of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
